HOMEWORK
is an extension of classroom studies to solidify learning in an independent manner.
DAILY homework tasks will be posted here & at same time added to student agenda books. We review this together each day of class. HW is graded.
HW FRIDAY: Yes, we do have HW on Friday? WHY HW on FRIDAY?
It will vary and usually be self-study, home connection opportunities, read as a life habit, and from there a new math when pertinent, and any unfinished or make-up tasks.
1) to practice a new skill covered during the day;
2) to fine-tune skills causing challenge or struggle;
3) learning happens on non-school days-- make home connections, take trips, etc.
EXAMPLES: stop by Discovery Place, Visit a Regional Library, research, interview a someone in a math profession... I'll share more opportunities too.

Each month, families may purchase personal books and other scholastic publications online to support our class. Each purchase provides free books for our class library or points to select novel sets for literacy lessons. There are also incentives and free gifts each month for those who purchase $15+ in items. You can place your order anytime during the month online, or return one of the fliers completed with a cash payment by the monthly deadline (usually 5 days before the last business day of the month). September book orders will be due by the 27th!
Students also receive a free book coupon from me for their birthday and may return that coupon with the item number and title, and it will be redeemed with the monthly book order. Classmates with summer birthdays June through August will receive theirs in September.
https://clubs.scholastic.com/home and our class code is P8R4K.
